Defenders Covers
Eileen Troemel asked for pictures to represent one of her Defenders series. The shield shape was an outline to which I added the pictures with colored pencils.
This series encompasses three novels about a group of people trying to right the wrongs in their society. With magic and swords, they battle their way from fledgling group working locally to a group saving their entire society. Defender of the People, Defenders of the Land, and Defenders of Magic (to be published soon).

Moon Affirmations
These pictures are featured in Moon Affirmations by Eileen Troemel. Moon Affirmations is a meditation self help book geared around the cycle of the moon. Using the moon’s energy, the reader can focus on issues in their lives. For each chapter, there is a brief description of the moon cycle along with an affirming poem and a guided meditation for each day of the phase. http://eileentroemel.weebly.com/ |

This is a watercolor I did for a class at UW Oshkosh. This is my Great Grandmother, Ruth and I together in her living-room not long before she passed away.
This is a watercolor of my spunky sister Lara. She was about to attend homecoming at our high school. This was also done for class. I was keeping to the theme of family.
This is an acrylic painting I did for my mother years ago. She is a fan of Georgia O'keeffe so I did my own expression of flowers with O'keeffe as inspiration.
This is an acrylic painting I did in high-school. Color and shape have always fascinated me.
Painting done in acrylics for Eileen Troemel. She used it for a cover for one of her books.
Dragon Lord Arius must find his mate. During spring rites, he claims Pena, a healer from the Plains. He likes her small body, flame hair, and spunk. Pena wants nothing to do with the Dragon Lord. She wants love. She longs for long and comfort. Arius carries her away from her Plains village to be plundered like the days of old.
Arius saves her life from a large and deadly adder only to have Pena save his life from the deadly bite. In the healing, Pena loses her heart and gains a great love. Arius discovers the woman he lusted after has more depth and skill. He loses his heart to her. Binding her to him, and himself to her, he performs an ancient rite of fertility.

This is a more recent creation. A final project for an art history class. This is a recreation of my favorite place using small pictures taken over many years at that location. This was a visual representation of a concept I had to present to my class.
My mother loved this so much it never made it home. Easiest Mother's day gift ever. LOL

This is a really old painting. I believe I was still in high school when I did this. It's acrylic on canvas paper.
I was trying to capture the view of my backyard. I gave this as a gift to my Grandmother.
If you're sensing a theme.....yes, I do tend to give away my art to friends and family. It is such a thrill when someone really likes or even loves something I created I always want them to have it.

Ah......Mr.Olsen's high school painting classes. This was the first still life I was allowed to set up for myself. It came out so well it Mr. O sent it to the state fair competition. It was mindblowing to see something I had done hanging in a gallery space with other artists work.
Acrylic on canvas.
